I love going to antique stores around Christmas because antique dealers put out their holiday stash that you don’t usually find any other time of the year! Think: the coziness of Grandma’s house all around you in one big place! Antiquing is also a great winter activity to get out of the house when it’s too cold or snowy outside.
The AMAZING poinsettia sequined top is one item I found while out antiquing last week and for only $29.99. It took me several passes by the top to decide to buy it b/c it’s certainly a lot of sequins!
After I got it home, I realized that this is one of those tops you can dress up or down…I styled it in the photo with a pair of black skinny slacks from jcrew and black patent leather bow heels but I’m wearing it w/ jeans for New Year’s Eve. You could also style it with a black pencil skirt and tights for a more formal look.
The thing to remember is that the top speaks for itself so you don’t need to do much in terms of accessories – let the sequined poinsettias come through loud and clear! This is a top that I may wear once or twice a year but it’s a great signature piece to incorporate into my holiday wardrobe!
The next time you’re out antiquing, keep your eyes open! You can find some stunning, affordable vintage clothing and you won’t have to worry about showing up to a party and find that you and another guest are wearing the same thing! Cheers!
